Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: September 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern enrolment in and use of coaching programmes offered by The Debate HQ, operated by Hassan Qaiser, an independent coach. All coaching is delivered online. By enrolling a student or using this website, the parent/guardian and student agree to these Terms.
1. Services
The Debate HQ provides online, Zoom-based debate coaching programmes for school students, including 1:1 coaching (open to any age), group debate coaching, and public speaking training.
2. Enrolment and Placement
Enrolment follows a free consultation, after which students are placed into the programme or group best suited to their level and goals. A parent or guardian must enrol any student under 18 and accepts these Terms on the student's behalf.
3. Payment Terms
Fees are invoiced directly by Hassan Qaiser (via bank transfer or another agreed method) and are due before the start of each month or programme block. Blocks of 8–12 weeks can be paid in full or in monthly instalments. This website does not process payments.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
For 1:1 sessions, at least 24 hours' notice is required to reschedule a session; sessions cancelled with less notice may be forfeited. For group sessions, missed sessions are not refunded, but session materials, and recordings where a session was recorded, will be shared where available. If we have to cancel a session, we will reschedule it.
5. Withdrawal Policy
If a student withdraws mid-month, the current month's fee is non-refundable, and no further charges will be made for future months. If a student withdraws mid-block, the current month's payment is non-refundable and no further instalments are due; where a block was paid in full, fees for the remaining whole months are refunded.
6. Conduct and Safeguarding
Students and parents are expected to engage respectfully with coaches and fellow students during sessions. Parents are welcome to observe 1:1 sessions. Coaching communication with students takes place through the parent or guardian, or through agreed group channels. Parents are responsible for supervising their child's device and internet use during sessions. The Debate HQ may pause or end coaching for conduct that is disruptive or disrespectful.
7. Session Recordings
Some sessions may be recorded so that students can review them. We announce recording before it starts. Recordings are shared only with the students in that session or group and are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
All curriculum materials, slides, drills, and resources provided as part of a programme are for the personal, non-commercial use of the enrolled student only and may not be redistributed or resold.
9. No Guarantee of Results
While we work hard to help students improve, The Debate HQ does not guarantee any specific competitive result, ranking, selection, or tournament outcome. Team selections and tournament results are decided by third parties outside our control.
10. Third-Party Services
Sessions and communication use third-party services such as Zoom and WhatsApp, which have their own terms. We are not responsible for interruptions caused by internet, platform, or power outages outside our control.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, The Debate HQ's total liability in connection with these Terms is limited to the fees paid for the relevant coaching programme, and The Debate HQ is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
12. Resolving Concerns
If you have a concern about a programme, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally and promptly. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Enrolled families will be notified of material changes by email.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data.
